My Minimalistic Daytime Skincare Routine

My Minimalistic Daytime Skincare Routine

When it comes to skincare I'm all about the 'less is more' approach. I don't want to load up my skin with unnecessary layers and I find that it's at its happiest when I keep my routine simple.

As you can see on the picture the products are well loved so I'm feeling very confident to share them with you. I've used this exact routine for a year and I'm still very pleased with it. I keep on repurchasing each product as they run out...

The first thing I do when I get out of the shower is to spritz a veil of the Caudalie Eau de BeautΓ© or Beauty Elixir as they call it abroad. A cult product every skincare lover has tried at least once in their lifetime! I've used this product for years. I absolutely love the scent, it's very distinct, herbal and super refreshing. The type of scent that you either love or hate, there is no in between. It's great for mornings to wake your skin up but what I love the most is that it shrinks my pores. I don't know the science behind it but it really does make them look smaller. It's also lovely to spray throughout the day, especially during the warmer months as it has a magical cooling effect.

As you know I'm very conscious of the ingredients in my skincare products and that's why I'm a big fan of Caudalie. They formulate their products without any parabens, phthalates and sulfates. I'm well aware that the composition is not 100% clean but their products really work for me.

Then comes my favourite part, serum! Again from Caudalie, the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum Complexion Correcting. If you follow my stories on Instagram you've already heard me raving about it. This is my third bottle. I absolutely love the consistency. It's lightweight, absorbs easily into the skin and acts as a great base under makeup. It doesn't make my foundation peel off. I've experienced that in the past with other serums and it drives me nuts! After three bottles I can happily report that this has really helped my skin in terms of radiance. My complexion is more even than it used to be and it helped to fade a sun spot I had on my forehead. This is an absolute must have for me.

After that I use my eye cream. I love the Dr. Hauschka Eye Balm. Again, this is not my first one. It's my second jar. This is the thickest eye cream I've ever used but in a good way! It's like butter, literally. I scoop a little bit with my nail, warm it on my finger tips and it transforms into this delicious honey consistency that hydrates in the most effective way. It's thick but somehow my concealer doesn't crease on top. It doesn't give me these nasty little bumps called 'milium' either. At 37 years old I definitely have a few lines starting to show around my eyes so a good eye cream is essential. I don't want to proclaim that it's anti-ageing but keeping my eye area well hydrated with this has definitely helped to make the skin look smoother. A little bit goes a very long way, this little jar lasts a long time. Dr.Hauschka is a certified natural and organic skincare brand if you are not familiar with it. I don't think you can have any cleaner than that in terms of skincare. I've tried many products from their range and pretty much loved everything.

Last but not least is my Revitalising Day Cream, or lotion should I say. Again from Dr. Hauschka. What I love the most about this brand is that their products are straight forward. They don't claim anything crazy and deliver noticeable results. It's my sixth or seventh bottle, I'm not even kidding. The only downside is that you tend to go through it quite fast as it's super runny, hence why I would rather call it 'lotion'. Other than that it's amazing! It's super lightweight but hydrates very well. My skin feels supple and comfortable without getting shiny throughout the day. Again, it acts as a great base under makeup. I like the packaging a lot, it's minimalistic, hygienic and the pump allows you to take as little/as much as you want without any waste.

I've never really been into skincare that much, maybe because I never found a routine I loved enough to stick to. I am very happy with these products. You know you've found what you need when you aren't tempted to buy anything else, right? :-)
