3 Products Everybody Loves But Me
I do love to share a good beauty find once in a while so I think it’s equally as important to mention it when things don't work. I'm well aware we are all different and everything is a question of personal preferences but I feel that these three products are really overrated. Please don't be offended if you love them, they just didn't work for me!
The first one is the TATCHA Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. I was very underwhelmed by this. Kinda sad as it isn't cheap and I absolutely adored everything else I've tried from the brand. This spray is VERY glowy, to the point that it makes me look sweaty. The first time I tried it I sprayed too much and wasn’t careful with my hair. It made it look greasy around my face. It really messes up my makeup, sits of top of the skin and never settles in. The scent isn't pleasant either, a total fail. Give me MAC Fix Plus anyday of the week!
The second one is the MARC JACOBS Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. Very promising name for a disappointing product. I remember trying a sample of it and really enjoyed it. Somehow the full size didn't live up to my expectations. I don't know why but it's not the first time it happens with mascaras. Do you feel the same? First of all the brush is quite large and I always ended up with mascara all over my lids. Annoying when you just spent 10 minutes blending your eyeshadows! The formula flaked on me at the end of the day and I didn't notice any crazy result volume-wise as the name suggests. To me it's very basic, nothing special. I love my luxury makeup but for me the drugstore is the place to go to for great mascaras. If you've been following me for a while you know that my ride or die is the Maybelline Lash Sensational. I've been through dozens of tubes. It's the best, period.
And last but certainly not least, the really hyped up IT cosmetics CC Cream. Everrrrrrrrrybody is raving about it and I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't get it!
I've tried it so many ways. Applied with my hands, a beauty blender, a flat kabuki brush, over a glowy primer, mixed with moisturizer... I don't like it! A little bit goes a long way, I agree, but it doesn't matter how little I use, it always ends up looking cakey on me. It settles in fine lines, emphasises the size of my pores and doesn't look good at all. It's a shame because I really wanted to love it. I like the packaging a lot, these squeezy tubes with a pump are genius but I feel like this is majorly overrated and there are better foundations out there!
That's it for my little rant of the day... Let me know if you want to see more of them!
Are there any products you feel overhyped as well? Spill the beans please, I'd love to know! :-)
