The Perfect Little Straw Bag
Whilst the straw bag trend has been around since last year (maybe longer?) I've only started eyeing it this spring. They are literally everywhere, in every shape and form. My first instinct was to go to Zara (obviously) but the one I liked was always out of stock. Usually these words make me go nuts but it was actually a good thing as I came across a brand I didn't know, Le Petit Cartel, and it was love at first sight!
I browsed the website, fell for the INKA basket and proceeded to checkout in a matter of seconds. Yes, that's how fast I ordered this little beauty!
Le Petit Cartel is the union of French designers and Balinese craftsmen. All the creations have this Parisian boho-chic vibe, which is very on trend at the moment. All the bags are handcrafted and produced in limited edition in a non standardized way so each one is unique. This one is made of banana leaves and came nicely packaged in a dust bag. The quality is amazing, you can really tell it's been made with a lot of attention to detail and love. It's lined inside and has a little pocket for your cell phone. It comes with a gorgeous shell keyring that makes it even more original and summery. It's quite roomy without being too big. I'm not into big bags anymore so this size is perfect for me. The delivery was very quick, I placed my order on a Thursday evening and it arrived the next Tuesday. Pretty impressive considering it comes from Indonesia and there was a weekend in between.
Straw bags are so cute and are the quickest way to update your wardrobe this summer. They go with so many outfits. I can see them paired with light jeans and a white shirt, a little coral dress or even a khaki jumpsuit. The possibilities are endless!
I knew I would enjoy wearing it but not as much as I am. I've been wearing it every single day since I got it. I am in love with a non-designer handbag... who knew?!
On another note, talking about designer... I got a few messages about my Chanel espadrilles and I'm sorry to report that they are incredibly comfy! I'm actually considering a black pair *insert a blushing emoji here*. :-)
