Vita Liberata Body Blur, My Skin But Better...
It's official, summer is finally here.. and you know what this means? Our arms and legs are going to be on display quite a bit for the next few months! I'm certainly not complaining about it but I'm still a bit pale and absolutely hate fake tan... First of all I'm not good at applying it and most importantly hubby and I can't stand the smell! I've had a spray tan professionally done in the past and although I loved the result (it does wonders in terms of self-confidence!) the maintenance and the patches it left when it faded away were too annoying to renew the experience.
Enters the Vita Liberata Body Blur... one of the best discoveries I've made so far this year. Well I say 'I' but it's all thanks to my friend Simone. She was raving about it on her Instagram stories and I had to try it for myself.
The Body Blur is a tanning product but not your typical fake tan. It's a cream you apply in the morning and wash off at night. It's basically make up for your body! It gives you a nice tint, blurs your imperfections (redness, veins) and makes your skin super smooth.
I have mine in the shade Medium Latte which is perfect for my light to medium skin tone. At first I thought it would be too dark but once it's applied it gives a beautiful, natural bronzy shade. It contains a slight shimmer that's only noticeable when you are in the sun. A little bit goes a long way so I don't see myself running out of it any time soon (which is a good thing considering the hefty price tag, at around 37€ for 100ml here in Belgium). I bought mine online on Planet Parfum. It doesn't smell like fake tan which is the biggest selling point for me. It's not greasy at all and sets instantly. You can't feel it on the skin, it doesn't stay 'tacky' if you know what I mean. I always moisturise my skin before applying it, that way it blends easily and I get a very smooth finish. I prefer to do it with a tanning mitt to avoid any streaks.
I've worn it a few times already (on hot days as well) and didn't have any stains on my clothes. Having said that, I remember the first time I used it I was carrying my daughter approximately 20 minutes after the application and noticed a stain on her little white dress. Always be careful and let it dry completely before putting your clothes on!
It can be applied on the face as well but I've never tried it. I'll report on that later. I didn't shoot any before/after pictures because I've literally decided to share my thoughts about it tonight but you can find plenty of swatches on internet to see the result.
Overall I'm very pleased with it, it looks very natural and is a great alternative to fake tan if you want to gain points with your hubby... :-)
