The 3 Zara Dresses That Got Me Through Summer
Summer fashion and I don’t really connect, let’s put it that way. Not sure why but I’ve never been a summer child. I don’t particularly enjoy dressing for the hot weather… Give me a cashmere jumper, a camel coat and I’m at my happiest!
Having said that, I found dressing a bit easier this year. I didn’t struggle as much and we have to thank Zara for that! Who else anyway? :-)
I found the first dress around April. This is by far my favorite of the three. If you know me you know how much I love stripes. 75% of my wardrobe consists of striped tops so of course I had to pick it up. The cut is very flattering, cinches you at the waist and gives a beautiful shape. It comes with its own belt but I also love to wear it with my Gucci logo belt as the colors compliment each other so well. I’ve worn it a lot and got compliments every single time, no joke.
I got the second one a few weeks later. Seeing how much I was enjoying the blue one I didn’t hesitate one second. This one has a more relaxed cut. It’s basically a straight shirt dress with no shape. It looks more casual but I love it nevertheless. You can still cinch it at the waist as it also comes with a belt. Little side story, I got a similar style for Amélie in H&M. I couldn’t resist! This purchase was definitely a trigger for me. Since that day I’ve been loving matching our outfits as much as I can! It makes me happy what can I say… :-)
The third and last one is basically the same cut as the blue striped dress but in a shorter length. I love the mustard shade. I never thought I could pull off such a statement color but I actually really really love it. I feel like I need a big chunky cardigan in this shade too for autumn now!
I’ve been wearing them like there is no tomorrow! Summer in Europe was sensational this year (unusually warm) but I never felt like I was melting in them. They are comfortable, lightweight and breathable. I’ve worn them a lot with white sneakers for a sporty look (running after Amélie ahem ahem…) but they look great with flat sandals as well. In terms of bags I mostly wore my straw bag from Le Petit Cartel. More details about it in this post here.
I feel like all three are very versatile and could be transitioned into autumn with a pair of ankle boots and a leather jacket to keep warm for crispy mornings.
These were great finds and I hope Zara will bring similar styles next summer ‘cause I’ll be buying more!
Did you also have a uniform the summer? Are you excited for the fall fashion as much as I am?
Until next time…
